Privacy Policy
Direct Openings is built to collect as little as possible. This policy explains what we do collect, why, and your rights under India’s Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023.
In short: you can use the whole site without an account, there are no tracking cookies or ad trackers, and we never sell your data.
1. If you just browse
- Server logs. Our host (Vercel) automatically processes technical data such as IP address, browser type and the page requested, to deliver pages, stop abuse and keep the site secure. These logs are kept for a short period.
- Anonymous visit counts. We use Vercel Web Analytics, which counts page views, the referring site, country and device type without cookies and without building a profile of you.
- How the site is used. We use PostHog, in cookieless mode, to see which features help: for example how many searches find jobs, which filters are used, and how often people click Apply or save a job. These events carry labels like the role, country or company of a job, never the words you type into search. PostHog sets no cookies, stores nothing in your browser and creates no profile of you. It may record anonymised sessions (page layout and clicks) to help us fix confusing parts of the site, with everything you type hidden.
- Your searches and filters are sent to our server only to return matching jobs. We don’t store them against you.
- Your theme choice (light or dark) is saved in your own browser.
2. If you create an account (optional)
- We store your email address, the preferences you choose (name, current role, years of experience, roles, cities and tech) and the jobs you save.
- Sign-in is handled by Supabase, which keeps a login session in your browser. If you choose “Continue with Google”, Google tells us your email address and name. We don’t get your Google password or contacts.
- Only you can read your profile and saved jobs. You can delete your account and all of this data at any time from your profile page.
3. If you email us
We keep your message and email address so we can reply.
If you ask to be notified about a plan on the Plans page, we store that email address and the plan, and use it only to tell you when the plan launches. Ask us any time to remove it.
4. If you pay (not offered yet)
If we launch paid plans, our payment partner (for example Razorpay) will process your payment. We would receive your name, email, phone number, the amount and a transaction ID, but never your full card, UPI or bank details.
5. About the job listings
Listings are public job posts that companies publish themselves. They describe jobs, not people. When you click Apply you go to the company’s own site, and its privacy policy applies from there. We don’t see or receive anything you send to the company.
6. Why we use data
To run and secure the site, see which pages are useful, keep your account and saved jobs, reply to you, and meet legal requirements.
7. Who we share it with
Only the providers that help us run the site, under their own privacy terms: Vercel (hosting and visit counts), PostHog (cookieless usage analytics), Supabase (accounts, saved jobs and launch-notification emails), Google (if you choose Google sign-in, and for our email) and, if we ever take payments, our payment partner. We share data with authorities only when the law requires it. We never sell personal data.
8. How long we keep it
Server logs: briefly, as set by our host. Usage analytics: up to 12 months. Account data: until you delete your account. Emails: as long as needed to help you. Payment records, if any: as long as Indian tax law requires (generally up to 8 years).
9. Your rights
You can ask us what personal data we hold about you, correct it, delete it or withdraw consent, and you can raise a complaint. Email skynettstudio@gmail.com. We aim to respond within 30 days. If you’re not satisfied, you may approach the Data Protection Board of India.
10. Children
Direct Openings is meant for job seekers and is not directed at children. Paid plans, if offered, will only be for people aged 18 or over, or with a parent’s or guardian’s consent.
11. Security
We use HTTPS everywhere, strict security headers, rate limiting and owner-only access rules on account data, and we don’t keep data we don’t need.
12. Changes and grievances
If we change this policy, we’ll update the date at the top. Privacy questions or complaints: skynettstudio@gmail.com.
